Kevin joined GPLUS as a Researcher in January 2014. Prior to arriving in Brussels, he was based in London where he worked for two leading political communications firms, advising corporate clients on matters relating to UK energy policy, telecommunications and local government.
Kevin has worked for the think tank Open Europe where he conducted research on the eurozone crisis and EU taxation. He then gained an insight into policy-making in the Irish Parliament (the Dáil) as an aide to the independent politician Stephen Donnelly during Ireland’s bailout. He was responsible for producing briefing notes for speeches and committee meetings, building Donnelly’s profile in parliament and the media, and communicating with constituents. He has also worked outside Europe, having completed an internship in the event management department of the British Council in New Delhi. There he played a key role organising a speech by the leader of the UK Labour Party Ed Miliband prior to the Copenhagen climate summit.
He earned a BA in European Studies from King’s College London and spent an Erasmus year studying at Sciences Po in Paris. He speaks English and French, can understand Spanish and is working on his native Irish
